Position: Industrial Mechanic(Diesel Mechanic)

Company Overview:

Apex Coating LLC specializes in surface preparation and coating applications for industrial assets, including ships, bridges, tanks, and other structures. We are seeking a motivated, full-time Industrial Mechanic who takes pride in their craft and is committed to delivering exceptional service and quality workmanship. This role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing a variety of heavy equipment, including diesel, gasoline, pneumatic, and electric units.

Job Responsibilities:

- Perform safe maintenance and repairs on a variety of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel equipment.
- Document work performed accurately and promptly in paper/electronic formats (work orders) daily.
- Travel to various job sites for equipment repair and maintenance when necessary; maintain service vehicle in a professional and clean condition.
- Manage and track parts, supplies, and consumables inventory.
- Operate forklifts to move, secure, load, and unload materials.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance and repair of equipment and tools.
- Advanced mechanical aptitude with advanced knowledge of tools and equipment.
- Strong understanding of various engine types and mechanical systems.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to commute to various jobsites.
- Ability to work full-time with minimal supervision and take initiative.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication skills; must be reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.
- Ability to attend all required training sessions.
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) with proficient understanding of usage and maintenance as required.
- Ability to read safety warnings, technical manuals, labels, data sheets, and guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
- Capable of safely operating various vehicles and machinery.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

- Ability to climb ladders and gangways, work at heights while using fall prevention equipment, and navigate shipyards and vessels.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds over short distances, including stairs and steep inclines.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods.
- The role requires flexibility in posture, including long periods of sitting, standing, bending, crouching, and climbing on scaffolding, ladders, and over structural members of boats and barges.
