Job Summary
The Lab Operations Associate is responsible for the end-to-end flow of lab projects, from sample coordination to the delivery of polished technical reports. This role combines meticulous documentation management with hands-on lab coordination to ensure testing operate at peak efficiency. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional who can transform complex testing data into client-ready drafts while managing the master schedule to prevent conflicts and optimize throughput.

Position Overview

- Job Title: Lab Operations Associate
- Salary Range: $55,000.00 - $62,400.00 per year
- Location: Milpitas, California
- Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, Full-time (On-site)
- Employment Type: Temporary (1-year, potential extension/conversion)
- Expected Start Date: February 1, 2025 (negotiable)
- Benefits: PTO, Care Leave, Partial lunch support, flexible work start time by mutual agreement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Documentation & Report Management
- Transform testing data from engineers into polished, client-ready technical drafts.
- Collaborate with the engineers to review, confirm/finalize non-technical sections ensuring 100% accuracy.
- Create, update, and manage standardized test report templates to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Maintain version control and ensure all documentation adheres to HCT’s quality standards.

2. Lab Scheduling
- Manage the master schedule for lab facilities, optimizing throughput and preventing scheduling conflicts.
- Provide hands-on support for lab flow, including assisting engineers with equipment movement for tests.

3. Test Sample Coordination & Lab Readiness
- Manage the basic flow of incoming, outcoming test samples, including receiving, logging, and unboxing.
- Perform secure packaging and coordinate returns of test samples upon project completion.
- Maintain a professional, clean, and organized lab environment to ensure safety and client-readiness.

4. Equipment Maintenance
- Track and manage the calibration lifecycle for test equipment.
- Coordinate with Calibration Lab for equipment maintenance to ensure zero downtime for lab operations.
- Formally register and manage all new lab equipment as it is added to the laboratory inventory.

Qualifications

- Software: Professional proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel) is mandatory.
- Documentation: Exceptional proofreading skills and the ability to format complex technical data.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift/move up to 45 lbs. and ability to bend, kneel, and reach while staging equipment.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication to mediate scheduling needs between multiple stakeholders.
- Preferred (Plus): Basic Excel Macro, VBA, or automated reporting add-ons.
- Korean speaking is a plus.
- U.S. work authorization required (no visa sponsorship available).
